Suffixes origins

Hi.

Does anyone know something more about these suffixes:
-ment, -ation, -ity, -ness, acy ? (generally about noun suffixes)

If You'll ask me had I searched for them in a dictionary I would say yes, many of them.
Indeed there are some information, but not enough. I'm considering the genesis, origins
of those suffixes and what's more important, their previous or simmilar versions.

What exactly is your goal?

The Oxford English Dictionary would be a good place to start, and that's where most researchers would look for the basics. Beyond that, you might need to look at raw data (e.g., in a historical corpus).

The term "nominalizing suffix" (or variants) may help you to find existing research about this.

Aside from -ness, those come from Latin and Greek, so there is plenty of research about them, at least in terms of data and etymological descriptions of individual words.
