Why is it when speaking we do not think about what we know, we just speak.  But when writing we edit, why? linguistone

You should read about standaridization. Plus just the fact that writing lasts longer than speech. This is the main reason that, in general, linguistics is the study of spoken language, rather than written, polished sentences.

dr33,
My problem is with English. I see the title of the thread in the subject, but I cannot see any (order) in the words or sentences, only in the subject of the piece. With thls said should I give up writing and find another hobby? Linguistone/pauljames@brmemc.net
