As this is a linguistics forum, rather than a writing/literature/rhetoric forum, you might want to look elsewhere for an answer.
But very generally: "expository" means "explaining", so you should explain something, and that explanation should be convincing, but not necessarily something that persuades the reader to change their mind or hold a new opinion. I would say that expository is more about facts, and persuasive is more about opinion.
