Noun class, "possessing a quality"
« on: May 06, 2014, 06:32:48 AM »
If rísa "that which rises" (from rís "to rise") is agentive (performing an action), what is hvíto~hvítu "that which is white" (from hvít "white") (possessing a quality)? Subjective? Attributive? Qualitative?

Same thing. Just that "agentive" implies intentional verbs :)

I was kind of suspecting that, although I thought it would have to be "intentional" to really be agentive.

Functional agentive and qualitative agentive?

Due to standard nomenclature I'd say they're all still deverbal agentive nouns. But in some cases they don't come from intentional (or various other technical term) verbs.
