can anyone tell me what are the difference between code mixing and code switching? I still get confused about those terms.

Code mixing exists in a community and may become conventionalized, while code switching is characteristic of a single speaker actively using two different codes (eg, languages) at the same time.
Obviously sometimes the distinction is hard to make.
