The confused thoughts of a confused fellow

Everybody seems to know almost everything about human language. After all, it's easy to talk about it, since we all know what a language (or, at least, our language) is. We all speak it, and we all know how it works for us. So what's the problem? Chosmky can say whatever he wants, but we know he is wrong somehow. Our theory makes sense, while Generative Grammar is too complicated to follow.
Maybe all those critics are right, who knows. I am deeply confused. Perhaps this text will help us out of our bafflement. Or will it?
